An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Procurement Project Manager (PPM) within Honeywell’s Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) business. The position will report through the PMT centralized Capital Procurement Leadership and is responsible to develop procurement strategies for key materials purchased, bringing both global and regional functional expertise as well as deep market and industry knowledge. The PPM will have a broad knowledge of the Procurement function, its strategies, policies, work processes and contacts within the team, and will be responsible for meeting with the Engineering function on a recurring basis to facilitate the execution of the capital process. The PPM will educate, train, and implement Procurement policies and strategies within the engineering function and educate the centralized Procurement team on PMT Engineering’s policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
For projects within the assigned region or business unit, the PPM will:
•Be responsible for achieving and reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually) the productivity and working capital improvement goals. Be capable to present cogently, on a regular basis, results of procurement function PMT senior leadership
•Ensure Procurement involvement early in the Capital Procurement Management Process (CPMP) and assist with Technology RFI’s, NDA’s, commercial selection,
•Draft and execute contracts and Purchase Orders within delegation of authority, and facilitate make or buy decisions for products or intermediates,
•Source technology, equipment, services,
•Support Procurement Commodity Leader (CL) in the development and qualification of new suppliers, validate interest and capabilities,
•Assist Project Team with development of Project Procurement Plans for equipment and services,
•Understand and minimize tax exposures through contracting techniques,
•Determine regional split of equipment purchases in conjunction with Engineering Project Manager (PM) and Procurement Commodity Leader (CL),
•In conjunction with Engineering Project Manager (PM) and Procurement Commodity Leader (CL), identify opportunities to secure supply from low-cost regions.
•Coordinate/conduct Request For Quotation (RFQ) activity for each project. Report status to respective PM’s, follow up on gaps with expediting
•Conduct on-site pre-proposal meetings at the facilities to ensure plant requirements (both technical and commercial) are met
•Coordinate activities and communicate with CL’s and managers in the centralized Procurement team,
•Negotiate contracts, terms, progressive pay schedules, delivery milestones, change orders, back charges as necessary.
•Leads projects of various types and Total Installed Cost (TIC) values within Procurement or cross-functional. Projects may be Agreement implementations, alternative offerings for site standard material or services, Systems integration or implementation, or applications oriented. Projects may include benchmarking of various work or system processes, or other productivity projects.
•ins strong relationships among manufacturing facilities and functional organizations; ensures strong interface and dialogue with the centralized Procurement organization; breaks down barriers where necessary.
•Resolves regional-specific issues with Procurement including but not limited to:
•Interfacing with Engineering/project teams, centralized Procurement and Accounts Payable (AP) to resolve “blocked” payment for suppliers,
•Ensuring availability of materials and services at competitive commercial terms and conditions,
•Maintaining Procurement Department procedures, quality systems and records as required to maintain Engineering or site ISO registration (where applicable),
•Working with new product development initiatives.
•Works with regional personnel to ensure site adherence to corporate, national, state and local policies and procedures.
•Supports LTA (long term agreements) and any regional/local agreements in order to leverage Honeywell’s position.
